Surf, Sand and a Temple!
Uluwatu’s Padang Padang Beach has been made famous from the movie Eat,Pray,Love ; but there is so much more to this clifftop town on the Bukit Peninsula than one beach!
Nestled at the bottom of every set of steps down different areas of the cliff are slightly different beaches – from white sand and palm trees, to rock pools and a shipwreck to a moss covered stone beach. There are beaches to explore for days! Surfer’s will always be able to catch a wave somewhere in Uluwatu!
If you want more than just beach, Uluwatu also has a spiritual side for the culture lover! Before the surfers hit the waters, Balinese Hindu’s bring offerings to the God’s along the beach while monkey’s try to steal what the waves don’t wash away. Uluwatu temple is one of the most important temples in Bali and is known for its beautiful Cliffside views. People from all over Bali come here to worship. You can also watch a traditional Kecak Dance at the temple and enjoy a beautiful sunset!
Uluwatu has a ton of great restaurants and accommodation – a notable mention is the PinkCoCo Bali, a boutique property with two great pools. Only a 5 minute walk from Padang Padang beach!
