Destination of the Month - July

Lima is on the coast and has great surf. Scenery along the Malecon/Boardwalk is beautiful. The city has some world class restaurants and is a foodie’s paradise!

The Peruvian Amazon is a nature lovers dream. There are many unique plants and wildlife such as caimans, piranhas, tarantulas, anacondas, capybaras, sloths, macaws and more!

Cusco is rich with culture and history. Wander the cobblestone streets and get a glimpse into life in the Andes. Cusco is the base for adventure. Rainbow Mountain, the Sacred Valley, Pisac Ruins, Ollantaytambo Ruins and Machu Picchu are all in the surrounding area. This is a great area for hiking, trekking and cycling.

Some incredible multi-day/camping treks are available.

The Inca Trail is a 3 night trek that takes trekkers to Machu Picchu’s Sungate. This trek requires a permit.

The Lares Trail is more off the beaten path and doesn’t go right to Machu Picchu, but gives travellers a great opportunity to visit small Andean villages and communities. It is a 2 night journey that takes trekkers to a higher altitude. No permit is required.

The Salkantay is another more off the beaten path trek with great views of snow-capped peaks. Durations vary for this trek.

Not a hiker? Take the train from Cusco to Machu Picchu instead!

May – September is winter/dry season and a good time to visit.
