Destination of the Month - June
Newfoundland and Labrador

Discovered in 1497 by John Cabot on June 24th. This day is now known as a provincial holiday called Discovery Day.

A charming province perfect for a getaway  in the summer months. Rent a cottage, go camping or stay at a boutique B&B.

From whale watching to bird watching and spotting icebergs. Do all this in just one trip. The best time to do this from mid-May until September by boarding a boat, renting a sea kayak or watching from land.

Spend a day at Gros Morne National Park, A UNESCO World Heritage site known for its spectacular views and wildlife – plenty of caribou, black bears, arctic fox and birds.

Did you know that the Northern Lights can be spotted in Newfoundland? Reports showing 20 – 40 sightings each year. The best opportunities to spot them are at Gros Morne National Park, Cow Head and Ferryland.

After your visit to Newfoundland don’t forget to visit the other East Coast provinces to discover even more of Canada’s secret wonders!

Hanover Holidays, a motor coach company, offers two tours specifically highlighting Newfoundland, a 7-day tour and a 12-day tour. There are many dates through the summer months to take advantage of.
